He was born on August 31, 1938 to Keith and Dee Mangold in Moscow, ID. He moved with his family to Ephrata in 1944 where he attended and graduated from Ephrata High School in 1956. He married Shirley Hankins on October 16, 1965 in Ephrata.

Doug was a farmer before being employed by the Ephrata School District as a bus driver and mechanic retiring in 2004.

He loved life, everyone that met him loved him and described him as the most giving kind man with a big heart and contagious smile. Back in the day he and Shirley loved to go dancing and bowling.
He was always putting everyone else first, he was selfless and touched so many hearts. Doug was a favorite bus driver with the students in the Ephrata School District.

He loved sports, classic cars and fishing but most of all he loved his family. He will be missed but never forgotten, his caring heart and legacy will forever be with us.
