I was reading the obit for Kathy Pyle and saw this notice. I remember many years of fun, family and great leadership from the Platt Family. Playing games Sunday afternoons, eating whipped cream from the bowl. Riding horses, weeding beets. He will surely be missed, but he served all well during his time with us.

My favorite memory after marrying into the family was every time my father-in-law, Rudy van Bree would get grandma worked up to the point that she would yell "RUDY"!! And I would see grandpa giggle and shake his head a little, every single time. His giggle when that happened has been my favorite for the last 20 years.

I guess I can't edit my memory. It's all good. I just wanted to add to it by saying, his giggle, and smile, and unconditional love are so beautiful and there has always been an unexplainable comfort in his face, just sitting with him was always a priviledge because even if nothing was said, you felt safe and loved, no words needed.
